Alessandro Vitiello Home Gallery presenta a Torino, presso la Fiera The Others (Stand n.7 Blu, costellazione Centaurus) “Rhizomes”, nuovo ciclo di lavori di Marco Angelini esposto di recente alla Salle Amerigo Vespucci dell’Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Marsiglia. In queste opere Angelini indaga il rapporto identità-migrazione attraverso il racconto delle sue emozioni sotto forma di ricordi, che si intrecciano come fitte trame con sistemi urbani complessi.
I rizomi sono germogli perenni, simili alle radici si diramano e vanno in profondità. Le opere di Angelini descrivono minuziosamente questa capillarità attraverso forme astratte che raccontano l’intreccio di culture e sottoculture differenti, le influenze ed accenti che caratterizzano le città, la proliferazione di contaminazioni sociali.
Queste opere documentano il lavoro dell’artista in rapporto con la storia e danno un’immagine del presente, inteso come esito degli avvenimenti passati e come premessa per quelli a venire, agendo come principale testimone del nostro tempo.
Il tempo, infine, influenza da sempre i lavori di Angelini. Vissuto senza ansie, come un costante divenire, una trasformazione incessante da ciò che era a ciò che sarà, passando per l’attuale, il presente. La sua ricerca espressiva – assimilabile dunque a un viaggio, che porta con sé tracce di passato (la memoria) in attesa del futuro – è inoltre dominata dalla materia, che talvolta è superficie pittorica che si sostituisce alla tela, come nel caso del polistirolo, dell’alluminio o del ferro, e altre volte entra a far parte dell’opera sotto forma di oggetti di riciclo, che diventano parte dell’opera.

Alessandro Vitiello Home Gallery presents in Turin, at The Others Fair (Stand no. 7 Blue, Centaurus constellation). “Rhizomes”, a new series of works by Marco Angelini recently exhibited at the Salle Amerigo Vespucci of the Italian Cultural Institute in Marseille. In these artworks Angelini investigates the identity-migration relationship through the story of his emotions in the form of memories, which intertwine like dense plots with complex urban systems.
Rhizomes are perennial shoots, similar to roots they branch out and go deep. Angelini’s works meticulously describe this capillarity through abstract forms that tell of the intertwining of different cultures and subcultures, the influences and accents that characterize cities, the proliferation of social contaminations.
These artworks document the artist’s work in relation to history and give an image of the present, understood as the outcome of past events and as a premise for those to come, acting as the main witness of our time.
Finally, time has always influenced Angelini’s works. Experienced without anxiety, as a constant becoming, an incessant transformation from what it was to what it will be, passing through the current, the present. His expressive research – therefore comparable to a journey, which brings with it traces of the past (memory) while awaiting the future – is also dominated by matter, which is sometimes a pictorial surface that replaces the canvas, as in the case of polystyrene, of aluminum or iron, and other times it becomes part of the work in the form of recycled objects.
